The big beam for the new opening is in:

Demo complete

Demolition is complete. Wall framing is about done. New beam is to be hung next week. Electrical and plumbing next week too. Fun times.

These photos are from the door to our back porch from left to right looking at what will be our kitchen.

Lots of pipes. (The wall to the right is a temporary support for the beam installation.)

These pipes will be relocated rather than leave them in the middle of the room.
